Kathleen M. Dumais is a member of the Paley Rothman Litigation Department and concentrates in family law. Her practice includes complex divorce and custody matters and she often serves as a court-appointed guardian ad litem for children in custody disputes. She was named one of the top 50 divorce lawyers in the Washington Metropolitan area by the Washingtonian magazine in March 2000 and 2004. Additionally, Ms. Dumais is an elected member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 15 of Montgomery County. Ms. Dumais presently serves on the Board of the Montgomery County Bar Foundation and was formerly the Treasurer of the Foundation and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She was Co-Chair of the Family Law Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association during 1997-98. She is a past President of the Women's Bar Association of Maryland, Montgomery County Chapter and has been an elected member of that Executive Committee since 1995. She formerly chaired the New Practitioner's Section of the Montgomery County Bar Association, and has been a member of numerous Bar Association special committees and task forces. She is a member of the Maryland Bar, 1987; the bar of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, 1990; and the District of Columbia Bar, 1993.
