Mark S. Carlin is a principal and co-founder of Ain & Bank, P.C. Often called "a lawyer's lawyer," the focus of his  30 + year legal practice has been complex litigation, almost exclusively in family law since 1985.  Since serving as a public defender for the District of Columbia early in his career, he has gained a reputation as a highly skilled litigator. However, Mr. Carlin has learned from his career as a domestic relations litigator that spouses and parents obtain more efficient, less expensive, and more enduring results through the private resolution of their disputes than through the court process. Mr. Carlin is admitted to the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia bars and their family law sections. He is consistently listed in Washingtonian magazine as among the best divorce lawyers in Washington. His articles have appeared in well-respected publications, such as Washington Business Journal and The National Law Journal.  He has presented seminars and lectures in family law for the ABA and D.C. Bar Family Law Section.  He serves as appointed Chair of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Committee on Admissions.
