Ms. Sachitano is President and Managing Partner of Strickler, Sachitano & Hatfield, P.A., focusing her law practice in family law and litigation since 1990. Ms. Sachitano's practice includes complex family law litigation in all Maryland and District of Columbia courts, mediation, divorce tax planning, issues regarding government and private retirement benefits, and appellate litigation. She was one of the first attorneys in Montgomery County trained for court-ordered mediation. She is an active member, past president, and current member of the Executive Committee for the Montgomery County Chapter of the Women's Bar Association, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Women's Bar Association of Maryland. She is also active in the Bar Association of Montgomery County and currently serves as Treasurer-Elect. She is a sought-after mentor and trainer, providing leadership and education in the law community on family law topics, such as prenuptial agreements, alimony, guardians ad litem, domestic violence and pendente lite relief. She is a 2007 recipient of the Leadership in Law Award from THE DAILY RECORD. Her published works include Child Support, The Pro Bono Desk Manual 17-1, Pro Bono Coordinating Council, 1995, and "Wage Discrimination-A Family Issue," Family and Work:Bridging the Gap (with Winn Newman & Christine Owens), Economic Policy Council of the UNA-USA, 1986. Ms. Sachitano received her J.D. from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C.
